During his appearance on The Lounge Podcast, Lane made it clear he understands what’s required. He said, “It’s being put in positions to set the edge for Derrick Henry so he can break a 70-yard run.”

That mindset reflects a broader understanding of his role in Baltimore’s system.

“It’s not just about what I can do down the field, but what I can do in the box and for the offense all around it.”

Lane also embraced the physical nature of those assignments, even when matched up against bigger defenders in practice.

“I think being able to be put in positions on this offense to make plays… It’s one of those things that you’re just grateful to be put in those positions.”
