J.K. Dobbins is a team player.
After missing the second half of last season with a foot injury and watching rookie RJ Harvey handle starting duties, Dobbins wants to return to the Denver Broncos in 2026.
The 27-year-old running back is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March, and even if he doesn't land an extension, Dobbins plans to continue mentoring Harvey.
“The whole year, RJ is my rookie, so I’ve been trying to give him feedback and all that stuff," Dobbins said after the team's season ended. "[The AFC title game] loss was tough, right? We weren’t successful on the ground. And I just tell them, ‘You have to just go back to the film and don’t worry about what the outside people are saying because they’re going to be on your butt, but you’re going to get better.’
"I’m going to help him get better even if I’m not here. He’s my rookie forever. His name, I’m attached to him, and I want to make sure he gets better. So that’s my job, and I will.”
Harvey totaled 1,249 all-purpose yards and led all rookies with 12 touchdowns in 2025. He'll look to build on those totals in 2025, and he'll have the support of Dobbins for the rest of his career.
