The Denver Broncos re-signed J.K. Dobbins, Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie this spring, then they used a fourth-round draft pick to select Jonah Coleman in April. RJ Harvey, the club's second-round pick in 2025, has also returned after totaling 896 yards from scrimmage and scoring 12 touchdowns last fall.

Dobbins, how healthy again, is the clear starter, and Harvey is the presumed RB2 behind him. Coleman could be a strong candidate to eventually carve out a third-down role thanks to his reliable pass-blocking and capable receiving skills. Coleman will have to fight for that role, though, as McLaughlin and Badie are also competing for RB3 duties.

  • RB1: J.K. Dobbins
  • RB2: RJ Harvey
  • RB3: Jonah Coleman
  • RB4: Jaleel McLaughlin
  • Depth: Tyler Badie, Cody Schrader

For now, we have McLaughlin above Badie, but that could change if Coleman doesn't immediately win the RB3 job. (Badie began last season as the third-down back, over McLaughlin, due to his blocking ability.)

Note that this is a projected depth chart from Broncos Wire, not an official depth chart from the club. Denver won't be required to release an official depth chart until preseason begins in August.

With training camp kicking off this week, the running back battle is officially underway.
