Great news about Whisenhunt!

Whisenhunt has led Arizona to a 13-5 record against NFC West opponents since taking over

4 of those 5 losses to the 49ers...that burns me up.

Good news. Although I would have liked to seen it through a minimum of 2015.

I am not sure if Graves deal is really an "extension" -- as it was due to expire after the draft.

FOX's Jay Glazer reports that the team has given Whisenhunt a four-year extension, with an option on a fifth. The full deal is worth $30 million.

So with the fifth year it averages 6 mil per year?

Am I reading this right?

Gotta be 30 million in the first four right? If they dont take the 5th year option then there is no $$$.

wow two were done at the same time. Who did it. Can we get that person to work on contracts as well.

Michael Bidwill negotiates these contracts.

Mike Jurecki is saying that these deals got done now because season ticket re-ups are coming out in the next week or two and this was the best the team was going to be able to do on "good news."

:bang: Looks like they screwed this one up. They could have gotten a free year out of Graves all they needed to do is let him work his own deal there is no way he gets Whisenhunt and himself done in the same year. :D

Graduations Whisenhunt.

Ken Whisenhunt has done the unthinkable, turning the perennial cellar-dwelling Arizona Cardinals into a perennial winner. As a result, the team has rewarded its head coach.

The Cardinals have signed Whisenhunt to a four-year contract extension with an option for a fifth, FOXSports.com has learned. If the fifth year is picked up by the team, the total contract would be worth $30 million.

The team has also agreed to an extension with general manager Rod Graves, though detals are unknown.

The deal catapults Whisenhunt into the upper echelon of coaching salaries. Not only do the Cards lock up one of the better young head coaches in the league, but the move also goes a long way in changing the NFL-wide perception of the Cardinals from a cheap team to one that rewards for a job well done.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Whisenhunt has a 27-21 record in three seasons in Arizona, including back-to-back NFC West division crowns and an appearance in Super Bowl XLIII -- a 27-23 loss to the Steelers.
