Looks like it's going for the old-school feel. If that's indeed what they were going for, they should have used the plastic mesh on the sides and back, and foam in the front. 
I like the idea of getting back to more simple designs, but you're right, this one is pretty bad.
For me, just give me a red, low profile hat with the bird on it. Nothing else, please.

Almost as bad as the ones from the early nineties where it looked like a seagull crapped on your hat and then you tried to cover it with an NFL logo.

the only cap that I really like wearing is the plain overall white one with the Cardinals' bird logo on the front. Yes

i own a zubas Bills hat. bought it right before the Bills-Giants superbowl just to piss off my giants fans friends. kinda backfired on me in TWO ways (giants win and i end up with a zubas in my collection)

I LOVE that new hat! I'm buying one this weekend.
I only have 3 cardinal hats.
1 is only red with the words "arizona cardinals" printed on it. KVB signed it and mailed it to me. I love that hat. Although I shouldn't wear it at all, I can't help but wear it everywhere I go. I just love it.
The other is a red Visor with the Cardinal on it. I had 13 players sign it when I was in AZ. That one stays in it's container and wrapped in plastic.
The 3rd is an a white one with the words "cardinals" in red and in cursive(sp???) above the word "arizona" in black. That one has coach Mac's autograph only on it. I bought it just for him to sign.
Ahhhhh, so many great memories from my trip to AZ.... Right up there with the best of them, is that M.I.L.F. sitting behind me at the game. You know what i', talking about JKF and MADDOG!!! LOL
