A Spanish figure skater's dream to bring the infectious energy of Minions to the Olympic ice is alive.

Because of "copyright clearance issues," Tomàs-Llorenç Guarino Sabaté faced the prospect of pivoting his program music choice from the Despicable Me tracks he'd been skating to for months. This came just a couple weeks after Guarino Sabaté channeled his inner Minion in his short program, donning blue overalls and a yellow shirt while skating to the Despicable Me music.

However, Guarino Sabaté learned days before his Olympic event he could no longer use the music. It was a crushing blow considering Guarino Sabaté says he submitted the tracks for clearance back in August.

"Finding this out last Friday, so close to the biggest competition of my life, was incredible disappointing," Guarino Sabaté wrote, per NBC. "Nevertheless, I will face this challenge head-on and do everything I can to make the best of the situation."

Guarino Sabaté appears to be able to use the music after all. The skater told reporters on Thursday he received approval for three of the four songs, with Pharrell Williams' Freedom being the only one left. He was confident enough to practice to the music ahead of his Feb. 10 routine.

If Guarino Sabaté can't use the Minions music, he will likely pivot to music from the Bee Gees that he used for his free skate this season.
