New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye may outperform his fantasy football average draft position next season, making him a player worth considering earlier than average in drafts this year.
According to FantasyPros experts, Maye is one of the top five quarterbacks for next season, as their QB2 with an ADP gap of +22.
”Maye was sublime as a passer last year, leading the NFL in completion percentage (72.0%), yards per pass attempt (8.9) and passer rating (113.5),” the FantasyPros Staff wrote. “…Aided by the tailwinds of a favorable regular-season schedule, Maye produced 4,394 passing yards and 31 TD passes. He also chipped in as a runner with 450 rushing yards and four TD runs – and his bountiful college rushing stats suggest there’s still more meat on that bone.”
Maye has two new wide receivers in A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs who will make life much easier for him in 2026 with their high-level talent, and a receiving corps as deep as any in the league behind them.
With an improved offensive line featuring Alijah Vera-Tucker and Caleb Lomu, the Patriots appear poised to reduce the amount of sacks that they allow to Maye next season, which is likely to lead to increased production in the air, as well as on the ground, making him an elite quarterback for fantasy football team managers to draft.
