Sure seems like it - that was an ugly game against the Titans - how do you miss a 31-yarder so badly???

Man I generally dont buy into the whole 'taking a dive' crap, but yesterday that was looking quite suspicious. They have worse luck than the Cardinals-and that is saying something.

Dan Patrick said this morning "They Aren't good enough to throw games. Throwing games implies that you are better than the team you are facing"

The Capers conspiracy theory is of course they promise to let him keep his job if they lose enough games to get Bush. You just can't tell me Dom went to Brown and said "shank this" and none of the players say anything. People are inherently bad at keeping secrets.

To a lay observer, one quick way to tell the difference between college and pros is the kickers. An NFL kicker missing an extra point is extremely rare. A 31-yarder is a chip shot for pretty much every NFL-caliber kicker. If they do miss it, it's at least close.

Not only was the 31-yard attempt yesterday not close. It wasn't close to being close. It wasn't in the same area code as close. The posts could have been 3 times wider and it still would have missed. It was a good 15-20 yards wide and short.

Seriously, make sure you catch the highlights of this game. If you have NFL on Demand, watch this last kick. It's the worst missed field goal I've ever seen in my life. And that includes college.

You combine this with blowing a 10 point lead with 2-minutes left and with allowing Kyle Boller and the mighty Ravens offense to drive the length of the field in 1:13 for the game winning FG, and you have to be suspicious.

Yeah, they're tanking games. They have so much talent on that team, but they aren't coached to win. They're coached not to lose, added to the fact of gambling (trading for Phil Buchanon, trading away their entire draft for Jason Babin, etc.) personnel, it doesn't look good for them. They need a new regime.

Domanick Davis is fighting for his job, though. Too bad he's the most non-threatening 1000-yard rusher in the league.

So we're to believe the KO returner fought through tackles to get the big return to get them in FG range so they could miss on purpose because they want to lose?

Nah, Jerome Mathis defered from the gameplan and got competitive. ;)

Talent? are we watching the same team? Don't mistake high picks for talent. Carr is poor, their line is worse than ours, they have one decent reciever with injury problems, and that's just the offense. They really are a bad team.

Andre Johnson and Dunta Robinson are damn good. Travis Johnson is decent.

....meh, you're right. They are a bad team.

It looked like the kicker stutter stepped on his approach on both late kicks he missed.Maybe the kicker's brother is Reggie Bush's potential agent.

Actually, he kept running instead of going out of bounds and giving the Texans a chance at a final play. The clock was at 0 when he was finally tackled. It was only because of a face mask penalty that the Texans even had the opportunity to run another play.

The proper strategy is to go as far as you can until there are 2 seconds left, then go out of bounds.

I'm not wearing rose-colored glasses. I want my team to win everytime they go out on the field. Take you loser attitude elsewhere.

Agreed. A win is a win. One of these years I'll die in the offseason and what good is that high draft pick going to do me then!
And re the Texans: What if the Houston GM tells the kicker, "Your job is safe next year, but if a game is ever on the line and you have a chance to lose it..."

no nfl team tries to lose, moving up a spot in the draft isnt gonna help you, one player wont turn it around. houston has always sucked and will continue to do so for at least 5 more years, although they did just hire a certain someone as theyr consultant didnt they? or is that a diff team...

Yeah Dan Reeves. I think they are choking on purpose, kind of. I mean if Don Capers is losing on purpose, seams like he would be in cahoots with the ownership about it. Maybe the whole Dan Reeves thing is a ploy to lend them credibility. Who knows. But I am hoping they get Bush.

Did anyone see the Jimmy Kimmel skit on MNF. That was hilarious.:D

BTW, I seriously thought of them as a playoff team this year, I don't see how they regressed so much from last year.

The kicker deserves to be fired for exposing the Texans strategy so blatantly. Seroiusly, that is the worst kick I've seen in the NFL in my entire life. Do you remember that Chicago game where there were 50 mph winds? This attempt was worse than those. And there weren't 50 mph winds there.
