Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is set to make his return here in Week 7.
Hubbard will be a go for today's matchup against the New York Jets. The fifth-year rusher, who missed the last two games due to a calf strain, was listed without a game designation on Friday's injury report.
Teammate Rico Dowdle took the reins in Hubbard's absence, amassing 473 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in a pair of wins. That output has put the balance of the backfield into question, but Hubbard isn't worried about who gets the start or the most work moving forward.
"To be honest, for me, I'm a football player," Hubbard told reporters this past week. "I love football. I love this team. I love competing. Any time I get on that field, whether it's first, last, middle of the game, whenever, I'm going to give my all, so that's my mindset about it."
Dowdle enters Week 7 as the NFL's third-leading rusher.
Hubbard, prior to being sidelined after Week 4, rushed for 217 yards on 53 attempts in four games.
