Jan Jensen and the Iowa women's basketball program continued to hit the recruiting trail hard last week.
The Hawkeyes have displayed some elite recruiting in the last few years under Jensen. They landed four-stars Layla Hays and Journey Houston in the 2025 class. They're bringing in five-star forward McKenna Woliczko in the 2026 class. And they've landed the services of four-star Jada Seubert in the 2027 class. Now Iowa has turned its attention to the future.
On Wednesday, 2029 guard Harper Winter announced on social media that she's received an offer from the Hawkeyes.
Winter is from Overland Park, Kan., and Blue Valley North High School. The 5-foot-7 guard put on a show as a freshman, being named one of MaxPreps' National Freshmen of the Year. She averaged 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game to help lead her team to the state tournament quarterfinals.
Despite just finishing up her freshman year, Winter already has offers from plenty of top-tier programs around the country. Iowa joined Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Kansas State in the running for Winter. As she continues to rack up the numbers and production, more schools will join the mix.
Winter also plays for Nike EYBL squad Mokan Elite.
Jensen has shown she can recruit at a high level in Iowa City. Landing Winter would be another example of her doing just that. The Hawkeyes should be one of the top contenders to land her commitment.
