In an announcement from the league on Tuesday, Iowa freshman guard Addie Deal has been named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

It is Deal's first All-Big Ten nod after she averaged 5.4 points, 1.7 assists and 1.2 rebounds per contest on 41.9% field goal shooting and 30.6% 3-point shooting across three starts and 29 games played. The 6-foot native of Irvine, Calif., also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors twice this season in back-to-back weeks on Jan. 19 and Jan. 26.

Deal's best performance this season was in Iowa's 91-70 win over Ohio State on Jan. 25, when she scored a career-high 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting, to go along with five assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block in 18 minutes off the bench after senior guard Taylor McCabe departed with an eventual season-ending knee injury.

She would also have four additional double-digit scoring performances throughout the season, which made her a valuable asset off the bench for a Hawkeyes squad that finished with a 24-5 overall record and with a 15-3 mark in conference play.

With Iowa entering the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 2 seed with a double-bye, Deal and the Hawkeyes will play their next game on Friday, March 4, from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at approximately 5:30 p.m. CT against either Wisconsin, Illinois, or Michigan State.
