Iowa State men's basketball is headed back to the Sanford Pentagon, this time to open the 2026-27 regular season, the school announced March 11.

The Cyclones will play Memphis in a neutral-site game at Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Nov. 2. Tip-off time and TV designation are to be determined.

Iowa State played Mississippi State earlier this season and defeated the Bulldogs, 96-80.

"We're excited to head back to Sioux Falls next season,” Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger said in a statement. “Our experience there last year was first-class, and we're looking forward to another great experience there next season against Memphis."

This will be the second meeting all-time between Iowa State and Memphis. The Cyclones previously defeated Memphis in Otzelberger's first year as Iowa State head coach, topping the Tigers 78-59 on Nov. 26, 2021.

Iowa State is 25-6 heading into the Big 12 Tournament. Meanwhile, Memphis is 13-18 going into the AAC Tournament. It has been a down year for the Tigers, after finishing 29-8 in the 2024-25 campaign.
