Iowa State basketball lands commitment from 4-star recruit Jack Kohnen

Iowa State basketball has picked up a commitment from 4-star recruit Jack Kohnen.

Kohnen is a 6-foot-6 small forward from Slinger, Wis. The Class of 2027 prospect also had offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana and Notre Dame.

Kohnen made official visits to Nebraska and Iowa this spring before choosing the Cyclones.

The 6-6 small forward ultimately picked the Cyclones after also considering Nebraska and Iowa.

Kohnen is the No. 31 overall recruit in the 2027 class. He averaged 20.6 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for Slinger last season.

Kohnen joins Wisconsin prep Donovan Davis and North Scott's Josiah Harrington in the Cyclones' class of 2027 recruiting class. All three are top-50 recruits.

Coach T.J. Otzelberger's Cyclone team is coming off its third Sweet 16 appearance in the last five seasons. Iowa State finished with a 29-7 record, including 12-6 in the Big 12 Conference.
