It makes me feel like Rod Graves is Dr. Evil. He has the opportunity to take out Austin Powers all the time, but is too busy following his plan. Has him trapped, tied up, etc....but lets him get away.
We already lost any home field advantage in playoffs already, unless anyone really thinks we can win our last 8 games. Pretty sad four weeks after being 4-0. That's letting it get away in epic fashion.
The OL problems have struck. We all knew how bad it was. We all wanted it upgraded. We had a miracle first four game run, and rather than be proactive and try to fix the holes, we let it all slip through our fingers.
Granted it's much more feasible to fix an OL during an offseason with FA and draft, but overall we've had opportunities to make some moves. We didn't close the deal the first time. We probably won't make a move on McKinnie, or with other players on teams' rosters.
We have plenty of talent on this team, we shouldn't be 'waiting until next year'. This team is a QB and OL away from superbowl contention. So much talent on this team going to waste.
Even then our QB's could do better if they actually had enough time to throw. If we actually had time to run deeper plays. This offense is designed to naturally run deep routes. Even as bad as our OL was last year, we were still capable of throwing deep on a decent basis. But that is all gone as our OL is absolutely putrid. Worst OL I've seen here in Arizona.
We can't pass block a thing, and we can't run block a thing. Our RB's need to have a five yard gain type of run just to get back to the line of scrimmage.
We're not going anywhere if we can't run the ball. It's not our rb's, it's our line. Our rb's might not do great even with decent blocking, or maybe they would, it's irrelevant because they don't have a shot unless the other team is messing up.
We have an extra late round pick next year. If it gets a chance to salvage the season, do it. At 4-4, the season isn't over. But even if you decide to make major changes, you need to be in a situation where it isn't all bad to make the appropriate ones. If something is so bad, it taints everything else, making it harder to make personnel decisions.
I also wouldn't mind picking up a guard as well. Our inside push has blown apart. Again it's hard to tell when outside troubles can lead to inside ones, but at this point, we're getting steamrolled up the middle and burned on the outside. Not good.
But no it won't happen, I can almost hear the mwuuuahh....mwuuahhh. Dr. Evil foiled again.
