With free agency almost here, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler shared everything he is hearing, which included identifying possible landing spots for Jacksonville Jaguars free agent defenders Devin Lloyd and Montaric Brown.
As Fowler was discussing the Carolina Panthers, he noted that they are likely seeking pass rush and linebacker help. Fowler then mentioned Lloyd as being a "good fit" for Carolina and what they want to do defensively.
The 2025 season was a breakout year for Lloyd, who was named a second-team All-Pro and a first-time Pro Bowler. He did a bit of everything for the Jacksonville defense, making an impact in a variety of ways.
He is going to command a good-sized payday and will have a strong market. However, one ESPN analyst still believes he ends up re-signing with the Jaguars. If that's going to happen, a lot more salary cap space has to be cleared.
With Brown, Fowler named him one of his "sleeper free agents" coming out of the NFL combine. He is going to have a relatively strong market.
The Jaguars would like to re-sign Brown, Fowler said, but if they can't, the San Francisco 49ers are a team to watch.
Of the Jaguars' priorities in free agency, retaining Brown should be one of the big ones. He showcased his ability to be a full-time starting cornerback last season and had good ball production to go along with that.
However, it sounds like there is going to be a lot of competition for the Jaguars.
