With NFL free agency on the horizon, let's predict which of the Jacksonville Jaguars 12 unrestricted free agents stay and which ones sign elsewhere.
Before free agency arrives, however, the Jaguars have some work to do with the salary cap. Jacksonville ranks near the bottom in salary cap space currently, with James Gladstone needing to make some cap maneuvers to create room to operate.
The NFL's legal tampering period opens on March 9th, and then on March 11th, free agency officially opens.
Now, let's make our final free agency predictions.
As the season progressed, Brown's role on offense became nonexistent. He was even inactive for several games. Go.
Similarly to Brown, Ogbah's role was reduced, and he was often inactive down the stretch. Go.
Lloyd earned himself a big payday after his 2025 season. I think the Jaguars would certainly like to have him back, but with their tight cap situation, my guess is that Lloyd earns more elsewhere. Go.
Like Lloyd, re-signing Etienne makes sense, but I don't know that it's in the cards. The Jaguars prepared for this moment, drafting Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen last April. So I think Jacksonville uses their cap resources at other positions, especially with Etienne having a "nice market."Go.
The emergence of Antonio Johnson during the season leads me to believe that the Jaguars will let Wingard walk in free agency. Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw, and Rayuan Lane also remain under contract. Go.
Newsome joined the Jaguars with very good ball production in his career and as someone who was thought to fit well with Anthony Campanile's zone-heavy defense. However, his play was quite up-and-down. Go.
Patrick provided steady depth at receiver. The Jaguars could call upon him when needed. A new deal for Patrick shouldn't break the bank either. Stay.
Gardeck played linebacker, defensive end, and was a core special teams contributor. He brings a valuable play style and presence to this team. Stay.
Johnson rounded out the defensive tackle rotation. At times, he was inactive. My guess is this position group gets reshaped this offseason, so the Jaguars go in a different direction. Go.
Smoot did a lot for the Jaguars' defensive line, playing both end and tackle. Assuming there are changes at this position, keeping Smoot can provide some veteran stability. Stay.
During the second half of the season, Morris emerged as TE2 on the Jaguars' game day roster. Stay.
Brown proved to be a reliable starter last season. With the Jaguars having a need at cornerback, they find a way to retain Brown. Stay.
