For a brief moment, most wondered if the Philadelphia Eagles might make a move to acquire Maxx Crosby or Trey Hendrickson. The Baltimore Ravens entered the chat, trading two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire Crosby's services. That seemed to halt the conversation, but then Baltimore backed out. Just like that, Crosby was seemingly available again.
The Ravens decided to pivot. Reports surfaced that they agreed to terms on a new deal to add Trey Hendrickson less than 24 hours later. The Dallas Cowboys entered the chat. They seem interested in adding Maxx Crosby.
There's new uncertainty surrounding the five-time Pro Bowler. Possible Eagles interest is impossible to measure, but with Hendrickson also off the books, believe it or not, Philadelphia has other options if they want to be aggressive in adding another pass rusher.
Dianni Russini mentions the lines the Eagles have to the Minnesota Vikings and Jonathan Greenard. He's a nice option, but Philadelphia would have to execute a trade, as he is signed through 2027. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2024.
Last season, Arnold Ebiketie fell out of favor as the Atlanta Falcons found younger pass rushers they liked better. He could get more money than some expect, but he might be one of the better options that the Eagles have now.
A.J. Espenesa isn't necessarily a starting-level player, but he plays hard and has a motor. He's a nice rotational piece who doesn't have any ego issues.
It feels like Bradley Chubb has been around forever, but he turns 30 in June. He's still young and offers a nice option if the Eagles are interested.
Verdict: None of these names carries the same star power as Maxx Crosby or Trey Hendrickson. That doesn't mean the Philadelphia Eagles would be settling. These are just the value players that Howie Roseman has built a reputation for finding.
Whether the Eagles explore a trade for Jonathan Greenard or target more affordable options like Ebiketie, Epenesa, or Chubb remains to be seen, but the goal remains the same: to save some cash. Build a deep and dangerous pass rush. Get back to a Super Bowl as swiftly as possible.
