Thursday afternoon saw the running back market explode into life once again as Jonathan Taylor was handed his new deal with the Indianapolis Colts.
Just hours after Taylor’s deal with the Colts was announced, the Detroit Lions shared news of Jahmyr Gibbs’ record-breaking deal.
It has been quite the week for running backs after Bijan Robinson also secured his own deal, which temporarily made him the highest-paid RB in history.
Spirits were high at the Colts’ training camp on Thursday as franchise owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon shared the good news with the fans in attendance.
After announcing the news, Irsay-Gordon offered the Colts fans a free beer to join in with the celebrations back at the training facility.

Indianapolis Colts owner hands out free beers as fans celebrate Jonathan Taylor’s new deal
No running back in the league scored more touchdowns (18) than Taylor last season, with his longest rush going for 83 yards.
Taylor put pen to paper on a two-year extension worth $44m.
Speaking to the fans in attendance at camp on Thursday, Irsay-Gordon wanted to offer a little something to help celebrate the news.
“I couldn’t think of a more special moment to be here with you guys to officially announce that Jonathan is here to stay,” she said.
Taylor stood alongside the Colts owner and wanted to thank the fans for their support as he heads into his seventh season.
“We appreciate you guys taking the time out of your evening to be here today. We love and appreciate you guys,” added Taylor.
“With that being said, on behalf of Carlie, Casey, and Kalen, they want to give the greatest NFL fans in the world a round of beers!”
After two relatively down years in 2022 and 2023, Taylor finally looks back to his absolute best with the Colts.
The 27-year-old was the Colts’ offense last season and is going to be heavily relied upon once again this time around.
