Stay up to date here with the latest reports and rumors surrounding the Indianapolis Colts during the NFL's free agency period.

Beginning on March 9th at 12:00 PM ET, the NFL's legal tampering period opens, allowing teams to negotiate with outside free agents. On March 11th at 4:00 PM ET, the new league year begins, and any agreed-upon deals can then become official.

In addition to GM Chris Ballard making any outside additions or re-signing his own free agents, there is also still work to be done with the salary cap. Trading Zaire Franklin helped get the Colts under the salary cap, but a lot more room is needed to have any sort of spending power.

Along with tracking any Colts-related reports and rumors, we will also be breaking down each move made by Indianapolis, which there have already been a few. You can find that here.

How much will Alec Pierce earn in free agency?

Pierce is in store for a big payday, and the Colts will have quite a bit of competition if he hits the open market. Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network says Pierce could earn $30-plus million a year. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler mentioned that Pierce possibly earns at least $27 million per season.

Some of the interested teams, according to Fowler, are New England, Las Vegas, Washington, and Tennessee.

Possible landing spot for Nick Cross

Jeremy Fowler mentioned the Cincinnati Bengals as a team that has been "linked" to Cross. After investing into the safety position last offseason by signing Cam Bynum to a big deal, the Colts may not be able to do the same this year with there being other needs to address.

Colts defender named 'free agent to watch'

Tom Pelissero said that defensive end Samson Ebukam is a name to watch in free agency. After missing the 2024 season with an Achilles injury, Ebukam took on more of a rotational role at edge rusher in 2025, appearing in 14 games with one start. He recorded 23 pressures and three sacks.

With the Colts wanting to get younger and faster on defense, they will likely go in a different direction at defensive end.
