The Milwaukee Brewers' penchant for up-the-middle talent continued in the third round as they selected University of Florida centerfielder Kyle Jones with the 102nd overall pick in the MLB draft on July 11.
In 58 games as a redshirt sophomore, the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder batted .317 with six home runs and 46 runs batted in with an OPS of .885 and also stole 17 bases.
Jones, 21, played only four games in 2025 after injuring his shoulder while trying to make a diving catch and undergoing surgery which caused him to miss the rest of the season.
The Athens, Ga., native transferred to Florida from Stetson, where he was named ASUN freshman of the year in 2024.

Here's a scouting report on Jones from Baseball America, who ranked him as the No. 61 overall prospect in the draft:
"He has a wiry, athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with a simple setup in the box and quickness in his hands. Jones has plus bat-to-ball skills and could grow into more power if he continues to add strength to his frame. Jones’ speed translates to both the base paths and the outfield. He’s an effective basestealer, but he can also go and get it out in center field."
