Tough one, but have to go with:

Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy -- Just perfection

Honorable Mentions:
Abbott and Costello
Marx Brothers
Three Stooges
Mel Gibson/Danny Glover

Question here is if Nolte/Murphy could be considered a "team." If not, then I'd go with the Marx Brothers

I would say yes - Buddy movies only work if the two have great chemistry.

Marx Brothers for me. John Cleese with anyone, especially the Monty Python gang.

How the hell are Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor not on this list?!

I'll put up a dark-horse candidate that I actually think is the best:

DeNiro/Grodin - Midnight Run

Easily the best odd couple comedy duo, who's had the perfect arc of enemies to frenemies to friends.

What list? There is no definitive list that is being called out, so not sure who you're directing this to.

To be fair, I didn't put them on my list because I had forgot about them. I probably would have also put down Gene Wilder/Marty Feldman as well.

Can't believe we've made it this far without Carrey/Daniels in Dumb and Dumber.

Plus you said teams (not just duos) so definitely near the top is Monty Python in Holy Grail and Life of Brian.
