I'm running a 128 song Linkin Park bracket tourney for my fam. The last time we did it was 2014 so there are a lot more songs this time (new albums, new versions, and previously unreleased songs).

This song is just sooo good. It's gonna be a sleeper in the tourney. The Catalyst has been my favorite for a long time, but this one is making a push for #1.

Tears for Fears - Shout (live)
I like that one.
Usually I aint a fan of live performances. I hear the airplay versions of songs so much the tone and timing get stuck in my head...and when most bands perform their own music live they tend to sound like a cheap cover band.
Fleetwood Mac was particularly bad at this.
But this is a good performance, slightly subdued versus the radio version but the timing and tone are on point.
I like concerts...but most of it is due to atmosphere...
RUSH was really good at sounding the same on stage as they did on the radio...so was Starship/Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane/Airplane
I was a huge Van Halen fan as a kid... but other than Eddie shredding on guitar I didnt like their shows...David Lee Roth goofed too much in the middle of songs, even intentionally changing and distorting lyrics...might have been a better show if I was as high as he was, lol...wasnt for lack of effort I assure you...just lack of rock star funding.
so yeah..music Live and in person is cool because the atmosphere makes up for discrepancies in the music... but I rarely enjoy live performances recorded.

which of course makes Frampton Comes Alive a problem...never saw him live, I always wondered if it would sound like the album, lol

I usually buy a song for the recorded version, but I grade an artist's talent by the live version whenever possible.

With some artists, the live performances are sometimes the best.

However, with some of the older artists, it's difficult to find a good live version.

This song was playing in my head this morning when I woke up.

Interesting, since I hadn't heard it in forever. It was a great 60's song.
