WASHINGTON – UFC Freedom 250 features one of the most anticipated title fights in history at the top of the card.

Former featherweight champion and current lightweight titleholder Ilia Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) will return after a lengthy layoff to fight interim titleholder Justin Gaethje (27-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) to unify the belts in the main event. Topuria, unbeaten, is a huge favorite at as much as 6-1.

There even is talk that if Topuria wins, he won't remain undisputed 155-pound champ for long. Instead, he'd seek a third title at welterweight. (No one in UFC history has won titles in three divisions, though Alex Pereira has a shot at it Saturday.)

But ahead of Sunday's card at the White House, former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, who retired in 2025, sat with MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn to talk about Topuria's layoff, Gaethje's shot at an upset and how Topuria might fare if he decides to move up to 170 pounds down the road.

Check out the full preview video above.
