I entered the America West trivia contest on the Cards site. The question was who did the Cards trade a 7th round pick for in the most recent draft - Larry Foster.
The guy calls me up and says "congratulations". I am like for what - then he tells me that I won. This is the first time I have won anything like this - I am so stoked!!
Funny thing is my girlfriend was buying tickets this morning to go to NYC. I called her immediately to let her know but she already paid for the tickets. So we will see if we can cancel that ticket and use the new ones.

A handful of fairy tales from the story bag...
My one and only visint to Arizona for a Cards game happened because of a great deal. I went to England one year during spring break on an honors trip. I was living in Erie, PA (about 2-2 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh, less if I'm driving). We had flown Erie to Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh to London. Well, we returned to Pittsburgh but, wonder of wonders, there was a blizzard in late march. They offered bumps and I accepted-my parents are only about 1/2 hour from the airport. They drove down and drove me back to the 'Boro. I got there around midnight. The rest of them got home around 2 in the morning because-get this-all flights were cancelled and they ordered a bus for them! I took the bump and got a free round-trip ticket. They didn't because they 'wanted to get home earlier'...suckers!!!

Hope it works out better for you than it did for me in 1998. It should if you have the time and plans for a trip already in place...
I won two round trip tickets anywhere America West flies, but the Tribune (who had run the contest for the Cardinals) didn't get my tickets to me for nearly 6 months. They said "Congrats, you've won two round trip tix anywhere America West flies. You won these in December...and it's now June, so you have 5 to 6 months left before they 'expire.'" We had already taken our big trips for the year, so we tried to find someone that could use them, but had no luck.
I contacted the airline and they said there was an easy solution - contact the Cardinals, since the tickets were purchased by the team, and ask them to simply extend the tix for another year. The tickets were already paid for, so there would be no extra charge to the team at all. That sounded great because we really could have used them in '99.
After getting the runaround from Troy Castor (sp?), the Cards PR guy (not a very good one), I finally tracked him down one day at the Cards' facility and explained how he could help me at no cost to the team...with one simple phone call. He took the info and said he'd handle it and I never heard from him again. Every time I called he was away, etc., and he never returned my calls.
Turned out to be a big joke. And not a very funny one. Part of the reason I am a fan of the team and not the organization.

I've been a season ticket holder for 15 years and five years ago my son and I were at the game when they announced that America West was giving away two free round trip tickets to anywhere in the US, which they did at every game ,so I was'nt paying any attention to the board and my son said," Mom look your seats were picked", and when I looked at the board I could'nt belive my eyes, with all those seats that mine was chosen. I was so pleased. They had no idea that they had chosen their best fan!!

Hey Stonso, I wouldn't cancel the tickets you purchased yet.
My experience with "free" tickets is that they only have 2 seats per airplane and the frequent flyers always get them first!
You'll need to be very, very flexible!
