It's been quite the 2026 so far for Mercedes and its 19-year-old driver.

After going three consecutive races without a victory, Kimi Antonelli came out on top at the Belgium Grand Prix on July 19. Antonelli enters the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, July 26 with a healthy 45-point lead in the drivers' standings (204 to second-place Lewis Hamilton's 159); Antonelli's Mercedes teammate George Russell sits in third with 154 points in what has been a dominant 2026 Formula 1 racing season for Toto Wolff's team.

Mercedes enjoys a 73-point lead in the constructors' championship standings (358 to second-place Ferrari's 285). Mercedes has won eight of 10 races — including the first six — in 2026, and one of its drivers has been in the pole position in every grand prix this season (Russell in Australia, Canada, Barcelona and Austria; Antonelli in China, Japan, Miami, Monaco, Britain and Belgium).
