The Boston Red Sox (27-35) look to secure a series victory when they face off with the New York Yankees (37-26), who are just 1-3 on their current homestand, at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night.

Willson Contreras homered and drove in three runs as Boston beat the Yankees 5-3 on Friday night for its first win of the season over its archrival. The Red Sox trailed 1-0 early before taking a 2-1 lead in the third inning on an RBI groundout and a run-scoring infield single by Contreras. Andruw Monasterio added a solo homer in the fourth before Contreras’ two-run shot in the fifth. Sonny Gray improved to 7-1, working 6.1 innings and allowing three runs on eight hits before the bullpen delivered 2.2 no-hit innings.

Ben Rice homered in the first for the Yankees, and Trent Grisham also went deep. Spencer Jones finished 3-for-3 and stroked an RBI double in the fourth inning. Ryan Weathers gave up all five runs, allowing seven hits over six innings, to fall to 2-4.
Right-hander Will Warren (7-1) makes the start for New York on Saturday night, entering play with a 3.22 ERA and 1.197 WHIP in 12 starts and 64.1 innings, striking out 70. The Red Sox give the ball to left-hander Ranger Suárez (2-3), who comes in with a 3.38 ERA and 1.159 WHIP in 58.2 innings over his first 11 starts.
