The Nationals’ offense has quietly become one of the most productive units in baseball. Washington erupted for six home runs Friday, with Luis García Jr. driving in a career-high six runs and James Wood, CJ Abrams, and Daylen Lile also going deep.
The Nationals rank among MLB’s highest-scoring teams and have gotten major contributions from their young core, particularly Abrams and Wood at the top of the lineup. After snapping a three-game skid in emphatic fashion, Washington will try to carry that offensive momentum into Game 2 of the series.
