OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball is facing an Omaha regular to start the College World Series.
The Rebels (41-21) are matched up with North Carolina (50-12-1) on June 12 or 13 at Charles Schwab Stadium.
Ole Miss got to the CWS by sweeping the Lincoln Regional in Nebraska and the Auburn Super Regional.
North Carolina, the No. 5 national seed, swept its home regional and beat Southern Cal in a walk-off hit in Game 3 to advance to the CWS for the 13th time, and the ninth since 2006.
Ole Miss is in the CWS for the first time since 2022, and the seventh time overall.
Here's what to know about the matchup.
Beating the Tar Heels starts with being competitive against their pitching.
UNC's team ERA of 3.87 is No. 8 in the NCAA.
Relief pitcher Caden Glauber (10-0) is No. 5 in the nation in ERA at 2.20 and starter Jason DeCaro (11-2) is No. 10 at 2.28.
DeCaro, a junior right-hander, is the ace of the staff. UNC is 15-2 this season in games he starts.
Walker McDuffie (8-3, 3.44 ERA) is another player with top-level talent coming out of the UNC bullpen, but he pitched poorly in the super regional. He allowed four earned runs and got just one out UNC's loss to USC.
Junior outfielder Owen Hull is one of the biggest reasons the Tar Heels are in Omaha.
Hull was 4-for-5 in Game 3 of the super regional. All of his hits were doubles, including the walk-off.
Hull, a transfer from George Mason, leads UNC with a .390 batting average and 81 RBIs.
He only has seven home runs, but he is a threat for extra bases in every at-bat.
The Tar Heels gave up an ACC-low 49 home runs in 2026. Keeping that up against Ole Miss is a tough assignment.
Ole Miss is tied for 14th nationally with 107 home runs. Right fielder Tristan Bissetta (23 home runs) and third baseman Judd Utermark (21) have been two of the top home run hitters in the SEC.
The Rebels had four home runs in the two-game super regional series.
Ole Miss 6, North Carolina 4: The Tar Heels have elite pitching like Auburn and elite fielding like Nebraska. Ole Miss has won regionals at both places in its run.
Expect a low-scoring game while both starting pitchers are in that finishes with dramatic scoring late.
