New England Patriots safety Kevin Byard is new to the team this year, and has the potential to make good on the money that he is due from his contract next season.
Byard led the league in interceptions in 2025 with seven as a member of the Chicago Bears. The 32-year-old is in line to ward off the field with Craig Woodson in the Patriots’ third line of defense in 2026, and gives New England a quality safety to lean on next season.

Kevin Byard has already taken home all $7 million from the one-year, $7 million deal he signed with the Patriots this offseason.
Byard has earned his prorated $3.5 million signing bonus, in 2026 off of his signing bonus, his $680,000 active/GM roster bonus, as well as his $150,000 workout bonus.
The Philadelphia native also has the potential to earn $2 million in playing time incentives next season.
Byard signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Patriots in 2026. The deal came with $6.1 million in guaranteed money.
