Traditionally, purchasing a commercial slot for the annual Super Bowl — which attracts an audience of over 100 million every year — will cost you a commensurate arm and or leg. Rest assured, it's not going to change for Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
In fact, any advertisement you watch on the fateful second Sunday of February will once again have the approximate cost of a Brinks Truck of money. Though, notably, the price for a 30-second ad is roughly the same as last year's Super Bowl 59 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
According to USA Today's Ad Meter, prospective advertisers had to pay about $8 million for a 30-second spot during Super Bowl 60. That is essentially the same figure as Super Bowl 59. Everyone already knew this, but there's a lot of money being thrown at the biggest game in American professional sports. In other news, grass is green.
It's still staggering to see it laid out like this every single time.
