LAWRENCE — The college baseball season has come to an end, and it brings the opportunity to see where Kansas ranks in the final USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll top 25.
KU will wrap up the 2026 season ranked No. 12, the second-highest-ranked Big 12 Conference school. It follows West Virginia, which finishes No. 4. They are the only two Big 12 programs in the final top 25.

Kansas won the Big 12’s regular season and tournament titles this year. It would also go on to win the Lawrence Regional during the NCAA tournament, before being eliminated in a super regional it would also host in Lawrence. The team that eliminated the Jayhawks was Oklahoma, which would go on to win the NCAA title during the College World Series.
KU coach Dan Fitzgerald’s rebuild in Lawrence has reached new heights in 2026, and the momentum around the program is as impressive as it’s been in years. The challenge this offseason is building a roster capable of sustaining that success. The challenge, too, is ensuring Hoglund Ballpark remains an imposing atmosphere that is tough for visiting schools to play in.
