On Friday, former Alabama golfers Justin Thomas and Davis Riley were back in action at Augusta National Golf Club for the second round of the 2026 Masters Tournament.

An important round for both players, each of Thomas and Riley needed big rounds Friday in order to make the cut in order to play the weekend in Augusta, which each sitting in opposite positions on the leaderboard following the first 18 holes for each.

Following is a look at how Thomas and Riley performed Friday at the Masters, as well as who will be playing over the weekend.

Justin Thomas

Thomas' second round was a bit more of a challenge for the former Alabama standout Friday, as the two-time major champion shot a 74 to finish two-over par (+2). Coming a day after Thomas finished his first round at even par, the former Alabama standout had two birdies and four bogeys Friday, a majority of which came on the front nine, and as a result, he now sits at two-over par (+2) for the tournament entering the weekend.

Making the cut by two shots, Thomas now advances to the weekend where he needs a big third round Saturday in order to get back into contention. Thomas' third round will begin Saturday morning at 10:37 a.m. ET where he is paired with Gary Woodland.

Davis Riley

Riley saw a slight improvement on his Thursday score during the second round by shooting an 80, finishing the day at eight-over par. A round which included one birdie, as well as a bogey or double bogey on eight holes, Riley, as a result, misses the cut, and has seen his time at the 2026 Masters come to an end.
