How J.T. Poston got a 12 on one hole after being next to the green after 2 shots at Travelers Championship originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
For at least one hole, J.T. Poston turned into one of us.
The high-class PGA Tour golfer put the ball close to the green in two shots on a par-5 at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
By the time he wrote a number in his scorecard, it was a 12.
It was as disastrous a hole as could be imagined.
How did J.T. Poston get a 12?
The big problem is that Poston twice messed up little chips onto the green and ended up in the water.
He also didn't finish off a relatively close putt that could've at least made it an 11. But at that point, it probably wasn't going to make a whole lot of difference.
Here's how it played out:

Poston may not have been there before.
Many, many golfers surely have.
Sometimes, the course just isn't interested in providing a forgiving day. Poston will have nightmares about this 12, and you can't blame him.
