We're through one round of the high school baseball playoffs.
In the Houma-Thibodaux area, seven teams qualified for the postseason, with three receiving a first-round bye. Of the four playing last week, three advanced.
Here's how they all fared:
The 14-seed Warriors pulled off the sweep of No. 19 Patrick Taylor Science/Tech in Division III select, 11-4 and 17-3. HCS will take on third-ranked Pope John Paul II starting on Thursday.
The No. 16 Wildcats swept No. 17 Winnfield to open the Division III non-select tournament, 7-3 and 8-0, setting up a series with No. 1 Sterlington that starts on Thursday.
The 13-seed Gators swept No. 20 Jennings with a pair of run-rule wins in Division II non-select, 11-1 and 10-0. Next up is a series against No. 4 West Ouachita on Friday.
In a Division I non-select series that went the distance, the 24-seed Tigers dropped Game 1 to No. 9 Walker, 12-5, won Game 2, 5-0, but lost the deciding game, 10-0.
