The stage is officially set for the biggest prospect in the state of Tennessee to finally announce which team he’s going to commit to.
Five-star Chattanooga Baylor RB David Gabriel Georges had revealed before that he had planned to make a decision on July 22. That indeed will be the day, and his announcement will be broadcast live at 5:30 pm ET on CBS Sports’ College Football YouTube channel.

The hats on the table will be those of Tennessee, Ohio State, and Ole Miss. Gabriel Georges visited Ohio State on May 29, Tennessee on June 5, and Ole Miss on June 12. However, from the intel out there, this is effectively a two-horse race between Tennessee and Ohio State.
Gabriel Georges is a unicorn of a talent. Built like a brick house, he has reportedly run a sub-4.40 40-yard dash in high school. He is one of those Alvin Kamara/Jamal Lewis/Travis Henry types of special talents. So, it’s no surprise Tennessee is reportedly offering him an NIL package in the neighborhood of $2 million per season, according to On3 Sports’ Chris Low. That’s apparently significantly more than what Ohio State is willing to offer.
We’ll find out soon enough if that’s enough to keep the top player in the state of Tennessee at home. And if so, the Vols would have arguably their best skill position player of the Josh Heupel era.
We’ll find out if Tennessee gets good news on July 22.
