By now you likely know the deal in the David Gabriel Georges situation. Tennessee and Ohio State are going head to head, throwing haymakers back and forth trying to land the 5-star running back. Gabriel Georges originally comes from Quebec, but is playing his high school ball in Chattanooga.

Ohio State was spotted sending their entire offensive staff down to Chattanooga for an in-person visit. The Buckeyes also offered a high school teammate and childhood friend of Gabriel Georges, Jordan Darren Djila, despite the obvious lack of rating from any major outlet.

Tennessee has been rumored to lead the way financial, along with potentially guaranteeing a starting job and the No. 0. You get the point — both schools have all of their chips of the table, and a decision is imminent.

According to Pete Nakos, the bidding war will make Gabriel Georges the highest paid running back prospect we’ve ever seen coming out of the high school ranks. Not exactly a surprise, but the deal should push past a million dollars.

According to 247Sports, Gabriel Georges is the 12th ranked player in the class of 2027. The 5-11, 200 pound back is the top ranked player in the state of Tennessee and has seen Knoxville several times over the past couple of years. Gabriel Georges wrapped up his official visits last month, seeing Tennessee, Ohio State and Ole Miss. He ended up canceling a scheduled Georgia visit.

Gabriel Georges is a human highlight reel at running back, showing outstanding vision and a special ability to get through tackles. He runs with violence, yet still has that top end speed to hit home runs in the open field. This is a day-one difference maker for any offense.

Gabriel Georges ran for 1,726 yards as a junior at Baylor School, scoring 27 touchdowns on the ground in just 11 games played.

Tennessee, like many schools this cycle, have pulled back from chasing most of the elite targets. They’ve picked their spots, and the biggest has very clearly been Gabriel Georges. The Volunteers rank just 40th overall with 16 commitments as things stand with an obvious money-focus shift to later in the transfer portal.

Is Gabriel Georges leaning one way or the other? It depends on who you ask, and maybe even when you ask them. He’s set for a final decision on July 22nd, and it sure seems like both sides feel pretty good with where they’re at.
