“The average coach since 1990 (which, of course, includes Super Bowl-winning coaches) lasts about 69 games, which equates to just over four seasons with the team. Coaches who made the Super Bowl, but didn't win, lasted about 64 games, and coaches who never made the Super Bowl in their tenure lasted just under 60 games.Oct 27, 2020”

So this guy has made 1 playoff appearance in his 4 years.. over 80% of teams make the playoffs within 3 years when selecting a QB #1 overall. He’s now coached in 62 games.. never even sniffed a Super Bowl.

This is truly wild - I can’t name a coach with less success in the modern era that’s had more job security.. can anyone ? At least the Marvin Lewis Bengals were making the playoffs consistently and were competitive. I’d trade anything for at least that.. it provided hope !

The decision to fire, or not, has likely been made already. Bidwill just doesn't usually make a change during the season...especially when changing now would absolutely do nothing to help the team's chances at the playoffs. Denny Green had his famous meltdown on national TV and still coached until the end of the season. Buddy Ryan destroyed the roster and didn't get fired during the season (he famously ducked out of the Xmas game a few plays early).

When the team returns from their bye, if we see a change in their demeanor we will know the fate of the coaching staff. That's how it was for Denny.
