The defending NHIAA Division II champion Goffstown boys tennis team ended its regular season on Thursday by winning its 31st straight match.

The Grizzlies defeated ConVal 9-0 on the road to finish the regular season with a 14-0 mark.

Coen Soucy, Cole Osburn, Eric Salazar and Avery Barwick each won their singles matches by 8-0 scores. Tyler Dionne, Goffstown’s No. 1 singles player, defeated ConVal’s Brady Clark 8-1, and Grizzlies No. 6 singles player Nathan Mailloux beat ConVal’s Quinn Lake 8-6.

In doubles, Goffstown’s No. 1 team of Dionne and Soucy and No. 2 team of Osburn and Liam O’Brien both won their matches by 8-0 scores. The No. 3 team of Peyton Campbell and Skyler Lyman completed the sweep by winning its match 8-1.

In Division I softball action on Thursday, the Manchester Kings co-op team earned a 10-7 home victory over Alvirne at Padden Field.

Manchester sophomore Avery Menswar broke a 7-7 tie in the sixth inning with her two-run double.

Manchester freshman pitcher Charlotte Furlong earned her first varsity win and struck out eight batters.

Offensively, the Kings (2-13) were led by Kianaly Gallego, who went 3-for-4 (a home run short of the cycle) and Cailin Maguire (2-for-3, 2 runs scored, RBI).

Gallego also shined defensively at shortstop, tallying two assists and four putouts.

For Alvirne (1-15), Olivia Burtt earned six strikeouts over six innings in the circle.
