Travis Bazzana went second deck in Philadelphia on Sunday.

It's just the latest feat by the Cleveland Guardians rookie that continues to prove he belongs at the MLB level, and that he's going to stick around for a long time.

Bazzana isn't a power hitter, per se, but he's clearly got pop.

One of his calling cards is being a disciplined hitter who makes sure to get pitches he can do damage with -- and when he doesn't, waiting out the pitcher and not swinging at bad pitches.

That has helped him match Earl Averill in Cleveland baseball history with an on-base percentage mark not achieved since 1929, a whole 97 years ago:

Travis Bazzana is the first Cleveland player to post a .400+ OBP --- with at least 1 HR --- through his first 24 career games since Hall of Famer Earl Averill in 1929.

There have been a whole heck of a lot of rookies to debut for Cleveland since 1929, and none of them have had such a pristine start.

Bazzana was the No. 1 overall pick a couple years ago, the first time Cleveland ever had the first pick in the draft. He lost just a bit of shine along his minor league journey, but the beginning to his career has proven that Bazzana deserved that status.

He's a rising star, doing things Cleveland hasn't seen on the diamond in a long, long time.
