Used it for the first time last night.
It comes seasoned and yet the instructions say to season first. Which is fine because it's basically applying oil and wiping it down. And you are supposed to do this before and after each use. Another caretaking instruction is to preheat the oven to 300 and put the just cleaned cast iron grill or skillet into it and turn it off so that the residual heat completely dries it.
I cooked t-bones on it last night and I was impressed. We bought t-bones from a meat locker and they were about an inch thick so bully for me.
The steaks didn't stick to the raised grills and the pan was deep enough that the fat from the meat dripped off and the meat didn't cook in it. The food certainly tasted as if it was grilled.
My next attempt with it is to make some green chile by grilling the poblanos, anaheims, garlic, and onions on this grill to see if I can get an effective char.
