The Tampa Bay Rays get back in the win column on Wednesday.

The team snaps a 2 game losing streak at home at Tropicana Field with a 5-3 win against the Kansas City Royals.

Here is what you need to know from the contest.

Griffin Jax got his 11th start of the season, and he once again proved it was a great idea to move him into the rotation.

He finished with 7 strikeouts and allowed no earned runs after going 5 strong innings and helping the team pick up the win.

The bats showed some life for the Rays on Wednesday.

After being shut down in the first two innings, they found themselves on the board with multiple runs. They picked up 3 runs against Royals pitcher Noah Cameron. Jonathan Aranda picked up another RBI, his 53rd of the season.

Yandy Diaz drove in a run in the fourth inning, his 51st RBI of the season, and continued his impressive home on base streak.

Jonny DeLuca also continues to show his hot bat since returning from injury. He brought in the Rays 5th run of the outing.

The bullpen was also great on Wednesday, as 4 relievers handled the final 4 innings. Only closer Bryan Baker allowed a run with a Josh Rojas homer in the top of the ninth. Baker did, however, pick up his 20th save of the season.

The only downside of the game for the Rays was that there were multiple fielding blunders for the team. The squad had multiple errors that allowed the Royals to pick up a few runs toward the end of Jax’s start. Something that could have been lengthened if not.

The Rays will be back in action in a rare Thursday game as they complete the 4 game series with the Royals. A win would allow them to even the series after falling in the first two games to Kansas City.

Ian Seymour (3-1, 4.98 ERA) is set for the start for Tampa Bay after recently cementing himself as the final rotation piece lately, after some adjustments from Kevin Cash. He will face Seth Lugo (3-4, 3.69 ERA) for Kansas City. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM EST.
