Jul. 6—The 2026-27 roster is all but set for Shauna Green's Illinois women's basketball program. So, over the next few weeks, we'll take a closer look at each of the 14 players on Green's fifth Illini team.

Webber was reticent at first that the Villanova transfer could thrive in a role as the first player off the bench with her new team. But Webber eventually grew to really like that role. Still, it was a new position to be in for Webber after the Pennsylvania native started all 36 games in her final season with the Wildcats en route to landing Second Team All-Big East honors as a sophomore. What didn't change in year one with the Illini was how dynamic Webber can be with the ball in her hands. That worked well for the Illinois with Webber a key part of an Illinois team that won 22 games after averaging 10.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
➜ Now, here's the question: Will Webber start for the Illini? There's no doubt that coach 's most prolific starting five would be with Webber in it alongside sophomore and redshirt junior in the backcourt. That trio would give Illinois its best scoring punch. Still, Green might look at a guard trio of Dolan, Jackson and as what's best for the team — and rotation — as a whole, especially given how good the Shorewood native is at the defensive end. Maybe Green figures if it's not broken don't try to fix it, as Webber's shooting numbers actually improved to a career-high mark of 45.4 percent overall, including 39.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc, with the Illini.
