May 8 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers released kicker Brandon McManus, a source familiar with the decision told UPI on Friday.

McManus made 80% (24 of 30) of his field goals over 14 appearances last season. The 12-year veteran, who joined the Packers in 2024, signed a three-year, $15.3 million extension in 2025.

The Packers cut the veteran after selecting former Florida kicker Trey Smack in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Smack made 82.8% (53 of 64) of his college kicks for the Gators. Green Bay also signed kicker Lucas Havrisik to a futures contract in January.

The Packers will hold their first session of organized team activities May 26. Mandatory minicamp will be June 9 to 11.
