I didn't watch the game myself, but from what I understand from those that did Dragic was sensational today. They said that Dragic almost single handedly orchestrated the comeback and near victory. 6 steals is pretty impressive. I understand that Dragic completely outplayed Rubio and that his defense on Rubio was extremely impressive. They mentioned that one time Rubio tried over and over to penetrate on Dragic without success and eventually settled for a pull up jumped that Dragic swatted into the stands. Rubio also couldn't contain Dragic on the offensive end and eventually fouled out. It was also said that Dragic displayed a certain confidence and swagger that hadn't previously been seen out of him.

Zweistein could probably confirm or deny these things, however that is great news and it's exciting to see him come up big against a team with as much NBA talent as Spain.

Yes, it' true.
Dragic came in game on end of 1.quarter. First think he do, is that he steal the ball (Marc Gasol's bad tehnique). Then he missed shot last second of attack.

2. quarter: In 2. quarter he was more or less invisible, one time he steps to out, then when score was 29:22 to Spain, he hit a three (29:25), then he have 1 steal and 1 turnover until coach substitited him (34:33, 2 minutes to end of quarter). On the end of quarter score was 43:35 :)

3. and 4. quarter: When score was 56:47, 2 minutes to end of third quarter (Slovenia played really bad in this time of game), he comed in. He didn't have chance to do anything in this time.(62:49)
On start of last quarter he hit crazy jumpshot (62:51).
Then he decided to school Spain's guards. He had two crazy steals, and he layup both counter-attacks. Slovenia had some good plays and result was 64:63 after two free throws Dragic made.
After few bad actions of team (Dragic didn't get ball) score was 74:68, a minute and a half to end of game.
Then Dragic's pass's being intercepted. After that he get angry and when Rubio want to play with him, he was blocked (really nice one). Rubio always wants to do something on Dragic but he was losing ball by ball because of good defense (Dragic play very agresive on him).
Then free throws on both sides bagan.
Dragic's stats in last minute:
-free throws in last minute (4/6), one he missed on purpose,(we are down by 3, 1 sec to end, Dragic made 1. FT, missed second, then we get rebound and made shoot.)
-1 layup
-2 steals (one when it was 14 sec to end, we were down by 3, Spain had ball)

overtime: In overtime we didn't bring ball to Dragic's hand (he played SG, stupid coach decision), so he hit just once, coast-to-coast.

If he could play whole game like 2nd half, I think he can be MVP of Eurobasket, if Slovenia win.

Thanks zweistein for the reports!

I found a 10 min. highlight video of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMkjGlhriqM

Make sure you mute the absurd and annoying Spanish commentators though.

Nice to see Slovenia keep up with Spain.

Edit: I watched the whole thing and it's really a highlight reel for Spain, but there are some Dragic plays (times are for the video, not game time):

Nice steal and layup at 5:17
And again at 5:30
Nice pressure at 5:41
Nice inbound assist at 6:08
Nice fastbreak drive at 9:27

Being a Spain lovefest, the video doesn't show the Dragic block...I really want to see that.

Thanks!

That was sweet! Dragic was all over him too. Pressured Rubio into that weak floater and Goran sent it into the seats. Nice.

There's a Dragic highlight reel from that game now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byouEw6e_F0&NR=1

Yes, he is injured, he injured himself in a game against Lithuania, he get hit on knee, and that is why he didn't play against Poland, and he won't play against Turkey, but he will probably play in quarter-finals.

Our coach said that he won't give Goran Dragic in game if Goran won't tell hie that he is really ready because he don't want to be responsible for his career (injuries after that).
