Grant Hill Sucks

Gee, I've often thought you were one of the worst posters on ASFN and this thread proves it. Grant Hill is a 7 time All Star, a possible Hall of Fame, and will give the Suns new wrinkles in their offense that they've never had before in the D'Antoni era.

The Suns had a terrible game, the entire team. As Cotton would say, you've just got flush this one. It happens, its no big deal. The Lakers are all NBA players after all, and once in a while, teams come out flat and get blown out. Remember, the Suns started slow last year as well and still won 61 games. It's going to take time for them to adjust to Hill, Skinner, et al, be patient.

Let's all jump ship after the second game. Weren't the Suns 2-6 last year? This team always needs about 10 games to get going because D'antoni does not like to push them very hard in camp / practices.

I do believe bringing in G. Hill was a good thing. We might get to 60 wins instead of 55.
I do like that he can create his own shot in the half-court though...that'll be of some help in the playoffs but he's not going to help us get a stop in the 4th quarter when we need one.....& neither is D'Antoni's system.

We have took a step backward.. Instead of finding a young player that fits the system, we went out and signed an old broke down player that doesnt fit our system..

Is this progressive? Im asking.. .. Nope .. In 5 years from now we will be asking where it went wrong again.. But Jerry is gone now.. So we are in a world of hurt now.. Its all down "Hill" now..

no, in 5 yrs we will know exactly where it went wrong as we will have maybe 2 of the players and none of the coaches from this current team. I am really getting tired of this long standing softy lable we have. We imported Truck Robinson, Maurice Lucas, Charles Barkley to combat it....and now...we tuffed up with BSkinner and SMarks.
Signing Hill doesn't bother me as much...he is a bargain...but he a Square peg, Round hole guy in D'Ant's toy box...much like Banks.

D'Ant will RunRunRun his own ass out of town if he is not careful.

While I agree that Hill works better in a slow it down system, tonight's game showed that the Suns need rebounding. They got killed on the boards. DA better tweak his scheme so the season doesn't go downHill from here.

Actually Grant Hill showed me what he can do. He can do what guys like Shawn Marion and the others on this team have failed to do. Create his own shot. A few times during the game Grant drove and scored. When is the last time we have seen that on this team? Grant Hill wasn't the problem.

Defensively we were terrible. Amare can't play big guys, Shawn was driven around, we were late on rotations etc. Steve couldn't complete passes. None of that has to do with Grant Hill.

I think we need to run plays to Grant when the offense goes stagnant versus parking the guy on the 3 point line. I don't know what game you were watching but I thought Grant was one of the only bright spots last night.

Personally I would like to see Grant coming off the bench and we go with a larger lineup. Skinner at Center, Amare at PF etc. Also, I am starting to think that Raja's best days are behind him. He has been horrible. Maybe we should also think about letting someone else have a go at Shooting Guard in the starting rotation.

Agree with everything you said, except for Skinner starting, he clogs up the lane too much with his constant rolling inside and trying to get low offensive position and forces Amare into jumpers, Skinner should spell Amare.

Raja looked rough in the preseason, and early so far, hopefully its just due to his bad ankles. His 3 point shooting (many of which have been wide open as always) has been terrible and thats all he's really asked to do on offense.

Raja had a pretty bad last year and it looks like it is carrying over this season. He is very inconsistent and he is supposed to be our 3 point threat.

I liked the Grant Hill signing and still do. It's nice to see someone who can drive to the basket and score so I wish DA wouldn't have him shooting so many 3's. It's not Grant Hill that got Amare in foul trouble and stopped him from boxing out. It's not Grant Hill that's making Nash average 6 turnovers a game. Grant Hill is not making Diaw pass out of easier shots than last year. It's not Hill's fault that Raja was 1-8 last night and played below-average D. This team has started off slowly the last couple years but they will get it. This is what happens when you add a starter, like we did last year, but I think Hill will fit in just fine. He's been playing very well, but has looked a little lazy at times, just like everyone else.

I have liked what I've seen out of Skinner, but he is not as good as Kurt and with him on the floor with Amare it actually will hurt our offense because he just can't hit the jumper like Kurt could and his man to man D isn't nearly as good either. I like him better than Marks as a back-up though. I just wish they would've spent that extra cash to keep KT around for maybe our last chance at a championship.

I have the feeling that coach and Bell himself believe that he was a better player offensively than he really is. Let him play the Bowen role explicitly who almost never touches the ball besides shooting the 3pts, while concentrating energy on defense. It's coach'es responsibility that the offense doesn't depend on Bell making offensive decisions. Bench him in favor of LB who at least is a more serious threat even playing hurt.

A slight difference though, Suns style was somehow new to the league 3 years ago. Now there are more teams emulating this style and teams don't get as unprepared for it.
