Adrian Morejon has proven himself to be one of if not the best left handed reliever in MLB. He might be the closer on a lot of other teams, but for the San Diego Padres and their immense amount of bullpen depth and talent, Morejon is the setup man. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune believes that even with that being the case, Morejon might be the most valuable bullpen arm out of the group. The Cuban reliever enters 2026 knowing if he can repeat what he did last season, he can cash-in in the offseason and likely end up being one of the highest paid relievers in the game.

• Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune used MLB The Show to simulate the 2026 season for San Diego. The computer did not hate the Padres, but it did not love them either. Maybe the baseball pundits, some members of the media and even some fans do not have high expectations for the 2026 Padres.
