Except his data set is inherently biased by the mere history of teams drafting by positional value.
Is it? Because it would seem that the point of the exercise is whether positional value matters. He’s using contract size relative to position as the success metric. If positional value didn’t matter, you’d see more later-round picks get big second contracts.

seems to me he is pointing out hit rate on starters based on rounds drafted...
