May 18—PARK RAPIDS — The Willmar boys golf team wrapped up the two-day North-South Invitational on Saturday with an eighth-place finish.
Playing at Headwaters Golf Course, the Cardinals shot a 334 on Saturday for a two-day score of 657. Willmar shot 323 on Day 1 Friday at Bemidji Town and Country Club.
Detroit Lakes won the tournament with 601. Cloquet and Fargo Davies tied for second with 633s.
Sophomore Aden Jacobson led the Cardinals' efforts with a two-day 157. He shot a 75 on Friday and an 82 on Saturday. Fellow sophomore Luke Larson tied for 20th with 81s on back-to-back days for a 162.
Detroit Lakes' Brock Burhans was the medalist with a 148. He shot 70 on Friday and 78 on Saturday.
Willmar plays a Central Lakes Conference meet at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Cloud Country Club.
