Should Stephen Curry want to move on from the Golden State Warriors, the front office wouldn’t stand in his way.
There is frustration within the fanbase that the Warriors are not doing enough to maximise the final years of Stephen Curry’s career.
Should Curry express similar frustration and demand a trade from the franchise, the Warriors won’t try to go against his wishes.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. claims Golden State Warriors would ‘understand’ a Stephen Curry trade demand
Speaking to reporters during a recent press conference, Golden State Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. spoke about Stephen Curry’s future with the team.
He noted that while he and the Warriors want to make sure Curry ends his career with them, they would respect a possible trade demand as he had earned the privilege of controlling his own future.
“He hasn’t [said any different]. That’s always been the message. That’s always been what he’s discussed. I think that’s tracking quite well.
“Ultimately, it’s his call, his decision, whether that’s allowing his contract to run out and move on. Look, if he comes to me and wants to be moved, [controlling owner] Joe [Lacob] and I will talk it through.
“We wouldn’t love it. But he’s earned the right to do what he wants. But as far as the messaging or any idea that he’d be anywhere else, that’s not a thing we’re looking at, or he’s looking at.
“There’s two things I’m confident about with Steph,” Dunleavy said. “He really, really wants to win and he wants to finish his career as a Warrior.
“I don’t think that changes tomorrow, Aug. 29, start of the season, middle of the season, end of next season. Those things are going to be consistent.”
So far, Curry has not made any kind of trade demand, nor have there been any reports about him seeking an exit from the team.
The Warriors clearly made most of their postseason plans around the possible arrival of LeBron James, as they were initially one of the favourites to land him.
However, with James joining the 76ers, the Warriors haven’t been able to build a strong roster, offering Draymond Green a big-money deal, and limiting their salary cap space.
The Warriors’ roster just isn’t good enough to compete for a championship, even with the possible return of Jimmy Butler later in the season.
As such, with his career winding down, Curry could possibly consider joining a new team and chasing a final championship run.
