It’s time to start preparing for the 2026 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 3 of the Fran Brown Era.

Name: Umari Hatcher
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Woodbridge, VA
High School: Freedom
2025 stats: Hatcher only appeared in one game last season due to injury. For his career, he has 52 catches for 797 yards and 7 scores.
2026 projections: Hatcher was in the transfer portal but came back after the Orange lost Johntay Cook and Darrell Gill. He had a strong spring as he was named Offensive MVP and should open camp at one of the outside receiver spots. Syracuse will look for him to be one of the leaders on that side of the ball.
How’d he get here?: Chose Syracuse over offers from schools including North Carolina, Michigan State, Maryland, Penn State, Virginia, and West Virginia.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars all around.
